Please may I be in the queue to ask a question

29:36
me too.

30:55
I have a question too (Jake Yeston from Science—sorry, my wife’s name is on my video)

35:21
Where in the publishing workflow would that happen, do you think, Catriona?

36:09
Crossref Scholix Article for Publishers: https://support.crossref.org/hc/en-us/articles/215787303-Crossref-Data-Software-Citation-Deposit-Guide-for-Publishers

37:12
The question queue is: Ray, Jake, and Bernard

37:17
Similarly datasets are used in many different papers…

38:00
We need other methods of assigning credit: Scholix could play a key tole here.

43:12
I’m surprised to hear Helena say that the journals check for data after publication. Publishers have stated data policies. Shouldn’t checking on data availability be part of the peer review process? Recognizing that editors and reviewers need to be brought up to speed on how to track so many moving targets…

44:56
This is also a great way to link to legacy data publications from the time before journal data policies.

45:15
That is not a very simple matter, Kyle: putting the onus on journals adds a tremendous amount of work to an already stressed system.

45:57
yes - credit for past current, future and dynamic data all impt but a challenge

46:07
Sorry—I wasn’t suggesting it was simple.

46:52
May I be added to the queue again please

47:19
Hi Kyle, of course, I absolutely agree!

47:22
Thanks, Helena!

48:51
There is of course 1) checking whether the data exists and 2) checking whether the data indeed supports the findings int he papers, one is much more work than the other. One can be done by a copy editor, the other requires that peer reviewers spend time on it...

51:05
yes please

52:38
On the issue of credit, there is a need for it to come in a format that scholars can use when under consideration for promotion and tenure or other forms of professional recognition and advancement.

53:32
Agree Jens and everyone: we could support Scholix as a model to track dynamic data citation also to past data sets, it could play a role in assigning credit to researchers who have data is being cited

56:51
The Belmont Forum (funder consortium) is planning to explicitly work on DAS recommendations/templates in alignment with the RDA Standardisation IG.

01:01:24
Thanks Fiona - looking forward to recommendations

01:02:26
Does Scholix link to ORCID? Would help enable credit

01:02:37
It is important to keep the end in mind, which could be use by the scholar or the department chair in academic settings and the equivalent in government labs, commercial settings, etc.

01:02:50
My question too, Catriona!

01:04:40
Thanks Natasha and Shelley for the shout-outs.

01:05:55
Thank you very much!

01:06:02
Thanks!
